it was a good week...hell yeah it was...

yes it was a good week...started out on Tuesday with a poetry
reading in a really nice cafe in Park Slope, a reeeeally amazing chocolate cookie and a huge chai latte...

& continued on Wednesday with Bill Clinton... it was Prof. Kersh, who doesn't want to be called a crazy leftie and is full of wit, who announced this event with Clinton, Catherine Ashton, Christiane Amanpour and the presidents of Croatia and Bosniaund Ashton and actually by the time
I tried to RSVP it was already full...So I decided to drop by after my class and to try to get in.. amazingly---it worked...one guy next to me- his friend in the audience - two seats in front of the political stage... and there we went..
I present this crappy cellphone picture as proof of my spontaneity,,,

Friday was the day that I went UPUPTOWN... all the way to the end of Central Park..The only reason people, living in Downtown, would go up there is to see the Yankees I guess... No Yankees for me... on the occasion of the Martin Luther King Week at NYU I participated in Community Service at a Food Pantry on 109th street...Really interesting...definetly going to do something like that again...

it was also the day I got my Identity back, or at least the first step in the right direction...Contact with Austria & good Thai with Andrea & Paul... after that: contact with American bars and drinks...

Yeah New York's a city of extremes...
Yesterday after a movie - Skyroom near Times Square with Michèle from Switzerland and her roommates.. Rooftop I tell you, rooftop! The city that never sleeps..? Definetly a lot of lights...Thank Good, otherwise there would be nothing but...

 the vast nothingness of space...
Somewhere far away in space and time..
Staring upwards at the gleaming stars in the obsidian sky

Today - Unsuccesful shopping trip down Broadway, but even more succesful outing at Whole Food's...

my week ended at the New Museum...as for now I only made it in the shop...but come a free Thursday night---- be prepared crazy art stuff, I come with all the experience I earned at the Kunsthaus Graz...

Up and down...& West to East...

Don't know what building that is? what kind of Austrian are you...?!
That's the Austrian General consulate on the Upper East side..
Is there a funnier place to spend your time in between classes?
I bet there is....

Maybe it's the the 6th precinct of the NYPD just round the corner,
where I spend another hour of delightful entertainment..
guns included!
And all of that while someone's selling my identity to some illegal immigrant..
a few blocks down in Chinatown...
Welcome to your new life Ms. Tlinkl! (No that's not a typo in case you were wondering...)

Yet another picture of a boring NY builing? WRONG...
picture of guy, searching in the trash, in FRONT of a NY building in Soho!
It was also around this neighbourhood that I spotted my first celebrity..
Snape Snape Severus Snape... even if he's mean in the movie - it counts!

Is this bus going to San Francisco? East Village - next stop the wild west...

Yesterday, feeling to oawful to spend yet another day without exploring the world  outside, I crossed the broder between West and East and undertook the journey from Washington to Thomspon Square Park...

walking by a man on a piano, playing the Donauwalzer, a grandmother in a neon jacket, dads playing football with their kids in Thompson Square Park, people lining up in front of bars for another, more commercial kind of football experience and the waterfront (actually that was more of an embarassing slipping, not the first and not the last slippery experience in NY) I was enhancing my image of NY...Adjusting the one in my head to the one you can see on the streets everyday..an ongoing process...
Yeah that's when you actually realize, that NY's built near water...well nowadays it seems like NY's built IN water too... yes Mr. Sweeper, sweeping the snow in the puddle, is gonna make the puddle grow until all of NY goes under..
